Description

This tea comes from the most romantic and interesting tea district in all India. It grows on the southern slopes of the Himalayas, which are located on India's northern border. TGFOP standards are considered the fanciest of Darjeeling teas. The long and partially opened leaf produces a full-bodied, rich, red liquor, together with a delicious and indescribable flavor of its own, sometimes referred to as "nutty".

When Darjeeling teas are sold, they are graded by size and quality. The grades fall into four basic groups: whole leaf, broken leaf, fannings, and dust.  Greenlands Farm's is a whole leaf.

TGFOP: Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe

Tippy: A term commonly referred to the unopened buds on the tea bush which are transformed into silvery particles called Tips, and which provide an attractive appearance in the ‘finished’ tea.

Golden Flowery: includes very young tips or buds (usually golden in colour) that were picked early in the season.

Orange Pekoe - A small, flat broken leaf with medium body.

“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.” ― C.S. Lewis

Directions: Prepare as a tea - Pour 6 oz of water at a full, rolling boil (212 degrees) over 1 tsp. of tea. Steep 2-3 minutes, strain, and serve. Darjeeling is an exception to steeping black tea, it is considerably shorter.

Ingredients: Organic Camellia sinensis
